028: Ian Rapoport

Ian Rapoport (NFL Network Insider) joins me to talk about how writing for his school paper led him to forgo Law School in order to pursue a career in sports journalism. We discuss the stops along the way which included moving from New York to Mississippi to cover the Mississippi State Bulldogs and then to the Birmingham to cover the Alabama Crimson Tide. Ian explains what it was like covering two of the greatest head coaches in football history (Nick Saban & Bill Belichick). We also talk about the importance of personal integrity as an insider when trying to gather information for a story and why it's more important to be right than it is to be first.
