036: Donovan Bailey

Donovan Bailey (2x Olympic Gold Medalist & 3x World Champion) joins me to talk about what it's like to compete and represent your country on the biggest stage at the Olympics. We discuss his motivation to return to competitive sprinting after watching athletes he use to beat in high school compete at the World Championships. Donovan discusses the global narrative surrounding the "fastest man in the world" title after the 1996 Olympic Games as well as when he gave arguably one of the best post-race quotes of all-time after the 1997 grudge race with Michael Johnson. We also discuss the 2020/21 Olympic Games in Tokyo amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the change in atmosphere if no fans are present.
